# How to manage the canvases tab in funnel management

The **Canvases** tab in funnel management lets admins decide which canvases are available inside a specific funnel. This helps users work with the most relevant structured templates when describing, analyzing, or developing ideas and projects.

**Canvas guide series:** Start with the [Canvas functional overview](http://www.acceptmission.com/knowledge/canvases-functional-overview-and-real-life-use-cases/). First [create and configure a Canvas template](http://www.acceptmission.com/knowledge/create-a-new-canvas-template/), then use this guide to make it available in the correct funnel. Users can then [use the Canvas in an idea or project](http://www.acceptmission.com/knowledge/introduction-to-canvases/) and [export or publish it](http://www.acceptmission.com/knowledge/innovation-canvases/).

## Why this feature is needed

Not every funnel needs the same canvas templates. An early-stage idea funnel may require tools for [Problem](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/problem/) exploration or concept definition, while a later-stage funnel may need business planning or project proposal templates.

The **Canvases** tab helps limit the available canvases to those that fit the purpose of the funnel. This keeps the user experience focused and makes it easier to apply the right structured template at the right stage of the workflow.

## What this feature is

The **Canvases** tab is part of funnel management in Application Settings. It defines which canvases are available for a specific funnel and in what order they appear.

A canvas is a structured template used to describe or analyze a specific aspect of an item. Based on the interface shown, examples can include a **Business Model Canvas**, a **SWOT Analysis**, a **[Problem](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/problem/) Canvas**, a **Project Proposal**, or other canvas templates available in your environment.

The tab also allows you to control visibility. You can choose to show all available canvases or only the selected canvases for the funnel.

## Access level

[Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/admin/)

Prerequisites:

- The user must have [Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/admin/) access to Application Settings.
- The funnel must already exist.
- Relevant canvas templates must already be available in the environment.
- The user must have permission to edit funnel configuration.

## Navigation path

Navigation path: Application Settings → Funnel configuration → Open funnel → Canvases

## How to use this feature

The **Canvases** tab is used to control which canvas templates users can access within a funnel. This lets admins tailor the funnel to the type of work users need to do.

At the top of the tab, you can choose whether to **Show all available canvases** or **Show only selected canvases**. When the selected-only option is active, the list below determines which canvases are available in the funnel.

Each selected canvas appears in a list. For every canvas, you can review the title and description, change the display order, or remove it from the funnel. You can also add another canvas with the **Add canvas** button.

## Step by step instructions

1. Open **Application Settings**.
2. Go to **Funnel configuration**.
3. Open the funnel you want to edit.
4. Click the **Canvases** tab.
5. Choose whether to show all available canvases or only selected canvases.
6. If you want a limited set, select **Show only selected canvases**.
7. Review the list of selected canvases already connected to the funnel.
8. Click **Add canvas** to include another available template.
9. Use the move controls to change the order of the selected canvases.
10. Remove a canvas if it should no longer appear in the funnel.
11. Save the funnel configuration.

## What you can configure in the canvases tab

### Canvas visibility

The visibility setting controls whether users see every canvas available in the environment or only the canvases selected for this funnel.

In the example shown, the funnel is set to **Show only selected canvases**. This helps focus users on the templates that are most relevant for this funnel.

### Selected canvases

The main list shows which canvases are currently connected to the funnel. In the example shown, the selected canvases include **Business Model Canvas**, **Business Model Canvas 2025-04-28 15:04:25**, and **Business Score Card**.

This list determines which canvases users can access in the funnel when working on structured storytelling and analysis.

### Add and remove canvases

The **Add canvas** button allows you to select from the canvas templates available in your environment. This makes it possible to tailor a funnel for different kinds of work, such as business design, evaluation, or project development.

If a canvas is no longer relevant, you can remove it from the selected list for that funnel.

### Reorder canvases

You can change the order of the selected canvases using the move controls. Reordering helps prioritize the templates that users should see first.

## How canvases support work inside a funnel

Canvases help users structure their thinking in a consistent way. Instead of relying only on free text, users can work through a guided template that captures the key elements of an idea, concept, or proposal.

This is useful when a funnel requires more than simple intake. For example, teams may need to explore a business model, define a [Problem](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/problem/) more clearly, assess strengths and risks, or prepare a project proposal before [Decision](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/decision/)-making continues.

By selecting the right canvases for the funnel, admins can make sure users have the right tools for the stage of work they are in.

## Guidance shown in the canvases tab

The interface includes a description panel that explains the purpose of the tab. It states that the tab defines which canvases are available for the funnel and that a canvas is a structured template used to describe or analyze specific aspects of an item type.

The flow guidance on the right also outlines the setup process:

1. Add canvases.
2. Choose relevant templates.
3. Assign visibility.
4. Reorder canvases.
5. Save your selection.

This guidance helps admins select the most relevant templates for the funnel and present them in a useful order.

## Configuration and adjustments

The **Canvases** tab should be reviewed when a funnel is created, repurposed, or updated for a different kind of workflow. The most useful canvas setup depends on what users need to analyze or develop in that funnel.

When adjusting the canvases setup, consider the following:

- Choose only canvases that clearly support the purpose of the funnel.
- Limit the visible list when too many templates could create confusion.
- Place the most frequently used canvases at the top.
- Review the selection when funnel stages or evaluation needs change.
- Make sure the available canvases support the level of detail expected from users.

Because these settings affect how users structure and document their work, the canvas selection should stay practical and aligned with the [Decision](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/decision/) process in the funnel.

## Practical example - Innovationlands

Innovationlands uses a funnel to develop new attraction concepts across its theme park organization. The [Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/admin/) team wants users to go beyond a short idea description and work with more structured templates before proposals reach the innovation board.

In the **Canvases** tab, the team chooses **Show only selected canvases** and adds a **Business Model Canvas** and a **Business Score Card**. This ensures that idea owners focus on the templates that matter most for evaluating attraction concepts.

When a new idea enters the funnel, the concept team can use the selected canvases to describe the value proposition, audience, operational logic, and business rationale in a more structured way. This gives Innovationlands a clearer basis for comparing proposals and deciding which concepts should move forward into deeper validation or project transition.

## Static Text blocks in Canvas templates

The Canvases tab controls which templates are available in a funnel. The template itself can now include **Static Text** blocks for headings and guidance.

Admins configure Static Text while creating or editing the Canvas template. It does not require a separate funnel [Property](https://www.acceptmission.com/ar/encyclopedia/property/) because it is fixed instructional content rather than an idea or project field.
