# Keep ideas confidential

## Why this feature is needed

Not every innovation process should be visible to everyone. Some ideas involve sensitive business topics, early-stage concepts, or restricted collaboration groups that require controlled access.

Keeping ideas private helps organizations protect confidential input while still allowing the right people to review, enrich, and manage those ideas in a structured way.

## What this feature is

[Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/accept-mission/) allows you to keep ideas confidential by controlling access at the funnel and campaign level. This makes it possible to restrict who can view, submit, or manage ideas in specific innovation processes.

Privacy is managed through access settings. In funnels, you can limit visibility for both users and admins. In campaigns and IdeaBoxes, you can also restrict participation and idea visibility so only invited users can access the content.

## Access level

[Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/admin/)

You need permission to edit funnel settings or campaign access settings before you can make ideas private.

## Navigation path

Navigation path: Innovation Studio → Settings → Data and structure → Funnel overview→ Open funnel → Edit funnel → Access

## How to use this feature

There are two main ways to keep ideas confidential. You can make the funnel private, which restricts access to the ideas inside that funnel, and you can make campaigns or IdeaBoxes private, which restricts who can participate and view submitted items.

When access is set to private, you must explicitly grant access to the users, groups, or departments that should still be able to work with those ideas.

### Step by step instructions

1. Open **Innovation Studio**.
2. Go to **Settings**.
3. Go to **Data and** **structures**.
4. Select **Funnel overview**.
5. Open the funnel you want to protect.
6. Click **Edit funnel**.
7. Open the **Access** tab.
8. Set **User access** to **Private** if you do not want ideas visible in the Innovation Portal.
9. Set **[Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/admin/) access** to **Private** if you want to restrict visibility in the Innovation Studio to selected admins only.
10. Add the specific users, groups, or departments that should still have access.
11. Save the changes.

## Keep campaign ideas private

If you collect ideas through a campaign or [IdeaBox](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/ideabox/) and want those ideas to stay private, configure the access settings there as well.

1. Open **Innovation Studio**.
2. Go to **Idea collecting**.
3. Open the relevant **Campaign** or **[IdeaBox](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/ideabox/)**.
4. Open the **Access** settings.
5. Set the campaign or [IdeaBox](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/ideabox/) to **Private**.
6. Add the invited users or groups who are allowed to participate and view the ideas.
7. Save the changes.

## Configuration and adjustments

Confidential idea management depends on the correct combination of funnel access and campaign access settings. If the funnel is private, only the allowed audience can work with the ideas inside that funnel. If the campaign is private, only invited users can participate and view submissions.

Use private funnel settings for sensitive evaluation and follow-up processes. Use private campaign settings when the idea collection itself should only be visible to a limited audience.

Review access lists carefully whenever you change privacy settings. If both [Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/admin/) and user access are private, access must be assigned explicitly to the correct users, groups, or departments.

## Practical example – Innovationlands

Innovationlands launches a confidential campaign to explore new premium guest experiences for a future park expansion. Because the ideas involve strategic concepts and early financial assumptions, the innovation team does not want them visible across the full organization.

The [Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/admin/) opens the connected funnel and sets both **User access** and **[Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/admin/) access** to **Private**. Access is then granted only to the innovation manager, the R&D lead, and a small strategy group. The campaign itself is also set to private so only invited participants can submit and review ideas.

This setup allows Innovationlands to collect and evaluate sensitive ideas in a controlled environment while keeping the process structured inside [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/accept-mission/).
