# Use brainstorms

## Why this feature is needed

Brainstorms help teams collaborate live when they need to generate, organize, and discuss input together. This is useful for workshops, digital meetings, hybrid sessions, and time-independent collaboration.

Instead of collecting ideas one by one in separate steps, brainstorms give users a shared space to add cards, react to contributions, group input, and build structure together in real time.

## What this feature is

Brainstorms are a live collaboration tool in [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/accept-mission/) that allows users to work together on a shared board. Users can add item cards, comment, like, drag and drop cards into categories, and use the board to explore ideas, problems, solutions, or strategic topics.

This feature supports collaborative ideation and structured discussion. It can be used in physical workshops, remote sessions, hybrid meetings, or asynchronous collaboration over time.

Brainstorms are connected to the broader [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/accept-mission/) workflow, so the output from a collaboration session can continue into idea management and follow-up.

## Access level

[Normal User](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/normal-user/)

Every [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/accept-mission/) user can create a new brainstorm and invite other registered users to collaborate.

## How to use this feature

Brainstorms are designed for live and flexible collaboration. You can use them to share ideas, solve challenges, sharpen strategies, and organize input visually during a session.

Participants can work together by adding cards, giving likes, leaving comments, and moving cards into columns or categories. This makes it easier to turn a free-form discussion into something structured and actionable.

### Step by step instructions

1. Open **Innovation Studio**.
2. Go to **Missions**.
3. Open **Brainstorms**.
4. Click **Start a new brainstorm**.
5. Invite your colleagues who are already registered as [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/accept-mission/) users.
6. Add item cards to the board.
7. Create columns or categories if needed.
8. Ask participants to add ideas, comment on cards, and give likes.
9. Organize the cards by dragging and dropping them into the right categories.
10. Use the board output as follow-up input for idea management when the session is finished.

## Common use cases

### Digital meetings

Teams collaborate in real time from different locations while meeting through video or other remote communication tools.

### Live workshops

Participants work together in the same room using a shared screen, touch screen, tablet, or individual devices.

### Hybrid meetings

Some people are in the room together while others join remotely and contribute on their own device.

### Time-independent collaboration

Users join the board at different moments to add and organize input over a longer period.

## What you can do in a brainstorm

- Add item cards to capture ideas, problems, or solutions
- Comment on cards to enrich or clarify input
- Like cards to show support or interest
- Drag and drop cards into categories or columns
- Use touch devices such as tablets or large touch screens
- Keep the content after the collaboration session ends

## Inviting participants

You can invite colleagues who are already registered as users in [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/accept-mission/). If you want to include clients, partners, or other external participants who are not yet users, they must first be invited to the platform through user management.

This keeps access to brainstorm sessions aligned with your company’s user and access setup.

## Configuration and adjustments

Brainstorms are started from **Innovation Studio → Missions → Brainstorms**. The structure of the board is created during the session by adding cards and organizing them into columns or categories.

Use simple categories at the start so participants can contribute quickly. You can always refine the structure later by moving cards and adding more detail once enough input has been collected.

For the best results, keep the session focused on one challenge, topic, or workshop goal. This makes the board easier to review and helps the team move the output into the next step of the innovation process.

## Practical example – Innovationlands

Innovationlands is preparing a workshop about improving guest experience during peak park hours. The innovation team wants staff from operations, guest services, and digital experience to work together in one live session.

The workshop host opens **Innovation Studio → Missions → Brainstorms** and starts a new brainstorm. Participants are invited to the board and begin adding cards about queue issues, food ordering delays, and guest communication problems. During the session, the team groups the cards into categories such as problems, possible solutions, and quick wins.

After the workshop, the Innovationlands team reviews the board output and uses the strongest items as input for the relevant idea funnel. This helps them move from live collaboration into a more structured follow-up and [Decision](https://www.acceptmission.com/fr/encyclopedia/decision/) process.
