# Import users from a CSV file

## Why this feature is needed

Importing users from a CSV file is useful when you need to add many users at once instead of inviting them one by one. This saves time and helps keep onboarding consistent when launching a [Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/nl/encyclopedia/mission/) or expanding participation.

This feature is especially helpful when a team, department, partner group, or client group needs access to [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/nl/encyclopedia/accept-mission/) in a single action.

## What this feature is

The CSV import feature allows admins to upload a structured file with user details so multiple users can be added to [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/nl/encyclopedia/accept-mission/) at the same time. The system reads the file and imports the listed users into the relevant user or invited agent list.

To work correctly, the CSV file must follow the required column structure. In the supported format, column A contains the user’s full name and column B contains the user’s email address.

## Access level

You need permission to manage users or invited agents before you can import users with a CSV file.

## Navigation path

Navigation path: Innovation Studio → Settings → User management

## How to use this feature

CSV import works in two parts. First, you prepare the file in the correct format. Then you upload that file into [Accept Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/nl/encyclopedia/accept-mission/) from the relevant import screen.

Make sure the file is saved as a CSV UTF-8 file. This helps prevent formatting and character issues during the import.

### Step by step instructions

1. Open Excel or another spreadsheet tool.
2. In column A, enter each user’s full name.
3. In column B, enter each user’s email address.
4. Check that every row contains one full name and one matching email address.
5. Save the file as **CSV UTF-8 (Comma-delimited) (.csv)**.
6. Open **Innovation Studio**.
7. Go to **Settings**.
8. Select **User management**.
9. Open the import option for users.
10. Select your CSV file in the upload window.
11. Click **Save** to start the import.
12. Review the imported users in the list after the upload is completed.

## Configuration and adjustments

User imports are managed from **Innovation Studio → Settings → User management**. The import only works correctly when the file structure matches the supported format.

Use one user per row. Keep full names in column A and email addresses in column B. Remove extra columns if they are not required by your environment. Saving the file in another format may cause the import to fail or create incorrect entries.

If you are importing external users, their access may still depend on your organization’s security and domain settings. Review your access rules if those users need a specific role or restricted access.

## Practical example – Innovationlands

Innovationlands is preparing a new [Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/nl/encyclopedia/mission/) to improve the guest arrival experience across several parks. The innovation team wants to involve operations staff, guest services leads, and a small group of external advisors.

Instead of inviting every participant one by one, the Innovationlands [Admin](https://www.acceptmission.com/nl/encyclopedia/admin/) creates a spreadsheet with each person’s full name in column A and email address in column B. The file is then saved as a CSV UTF-8 file and uploaded through the import option in user management.

After the import, the invited users appear in the platform and can be added to the right [Mission](https://www.acceptmission.com/nl/encyclopedia/mission/) or collaboration flow. This allows Innovationlands to onboard a large participant group quickly while keeping the setup structured and repeatable.
