1. Collect

Idea generation or ideation is the creative process of collecting and improving ideas. With brainstorm campaigns you can proactively generate many ideas in a short period of time.

Every idea can be (part of a bigger) solution, so you want to have an open and objective approach towards collecting, analyzing, reviewing and building on those ideas for potential new solutions, new products or strategy improvements.

2. Select

After the audience generated ideas for the challenge, it’s important to know how you are going to capture and evaluate these ideas. It’s easy to come up with ideas; it’s more difficult to analyze and further develop the right ones.

In the end, the innovation managers are kept responsible for not only the prototype’s success, but also for their decision to move their concept or prototype forward. Therefore it is important for them to consider using the 7 criteria that will help them with choosing the best idea.

3. Execute

First of all, recognize that ideas are just ideas. In order to turn your business idea into reality, you need to start executing them. If you want to transform your idea into projects that are functional and sustainable, you can find 5 tips in the guide.

Remember, not every idea has the potential to turn into a project. In your business, know when you’re making steps in the right direction, and also if it’s time to cut your losses and move onto the next project.

4. Report

Managing the ideas after the mission is equally important to maintain an overview of the ideas. It is easy to get lost in data when hundreds of ideas are generated.

A clear overview of ideas makes selecting the sought-after idea(s) a lot easier. The target is to choose the best ones out of all ideas generated.
