Accept Mission includes celebrations that add a visual moment of feedback when users arrive on a page, submit an idea, or complete a participation step. You can use these effects to make participation feel more visible and rewarding.
Why this feature is needed #
Celebrations help highlight important user actions without changing the underlying workflow. They are useful when you want to encourage participation, draw attention to a Mission or selection, or make a completed action feel acknowledged.
This is especially helpful when inviting users to a specific page in the Innovation Portal. By adding a celebration to the link, users see the effect as soon as they land on the page.
What this feature is #
Celebrations are visual effects that can be triggered in two ways inside Accept Mission:
- By adding a celebration parameter to a URL
- By configuring a celebration in specific settings areas, such as a Campaign Mission, Company IdeaBox, or Selection
The feature is primarily used in the Innovation Portal to support participation and engagement. It does not change permissions, scoring, or workflow logic.
Access level #
You need access to the relevant Mission, Company IdeaBox, or selection settings if you want to configure celebrations inside the application. Any user with a valid link can experience a celebration when the URL includes a celebration parameter.
Navigation path #
Navigation path: Innovation Portal → Direct page URL with celebration parameter
Navigation path: Innovation Portal → Mission → Settings → Celebration
Navigation path: Innovation Portal → Company IdeaBox → Settings → Celebration
Navigation path: Innovation Portal → Selection → Settings → Celebration
How to use this feature #
You can activate a celebration by appending a parameter to the end of a URL. When the page opens, the selected celebration is shown automatically.
If the URL does not yet contain a question mark, add the parameter using ?. If the URL already contains one or more parameters, add the celebration using &.
Example with a simple login URL:
https://app.acceptmission.com/login?celebration=realistic
Example with a URL that already contains parameters:
https://<yoursubdomain>.acceptmission.com/ideas?q%5Bdepartment_id_eq%5D=1234&celebration=stars
Step by step instructions #
- Open the page in Accept Mission that you want to share.
- Copy the full URL of that page.
- Add one of the supported celebration values to the end of the URL.
- Use
?celebration=...if the URL has no existing parameters. - Use
&celebration=...if the URL already contains a?. - Share the updated link with the users you want to invite.
- When users open the link, the selected celebration is shown automatically.
Available celebration types #
basicrandomfireworksstarsschool_priderealistic
Examples:
?celebration=basic?celebration=random?celebration=fireworks?celebration=stars?celebration=school_pride?celebration=realistic
Configuration and adjustments #
Celebrations can also be configured directly in specific parts of the application.
- Campaign Mission: In the settings, use the Celebration tab to define which celebration is shown after adding an idea.
- Company IdeaBox: In the settings, use the Celebration tab to define which celebration is shown after adding an idea.
- Selection: In the settings, use the Celebration tab to define which celebration is shown after the selection is completed.
These settings let you apply celebrations without editing the URL manually each time. The configured celebration is then tied to that specific participation flow.
Practical example – Innovationlands #
Innovationlands launches a Mission in the Innovation Portal to collect ideas for improving queue times in Innovationlands World. The Park Innovation Lead wants employees to feel encouraged to participate as soon as they open the Mission link.
The team shares a Mission URL with celebration=fireworks in the link so invited employees see a celebration when the page opens. Inside the Mission settings, the team also configures a celebration so contributors get visual feedback after submitting an idea.
As ideas come in, the submission flow remains structured. Ideas still move into the correct funnel for review, are assessed with the usual scoring logic, and can later be advanced to a Decision moment or project transition if approved. The celebration adds engagement, but the governance process remains unchanged.
