Why this feature is needed #
Ideas, projects, missions, and funnels often involve multiple people over time. To keep ownership clear, Accept Mission stores different role references on each object. This helps teams understand who created the object, who is currently responsible for follow-up, and who made the latest change.
Understanding the difference between Creator, Owner, and Modifier is especially useful when reviewing progress, following up on stalled items, or checking who last updated important information.
What this feature is #
Creator, Owner, and Modifier are system roles linked to an individual object in Accept Mission. They do not describe general platform permissions. Instead, they show a user’s relationship to a specific idea, project, Mission, or funnel.
The Creator is the person originally associated with creating the object. The Owner is the person responsible for follow-up and ongoing process accountability. The Modifier is the person who most recently updated the object.
These role references help support structured innovation management by making contribution, accountability, and activity traceable across the workflow.
Access level #
Admins can typically change ownership and creator assignments where allowed in the process configuration. Other users may see these fields without being able to edit them.
Navigation path #
Navigation path: Innovation Studio → Ideas or Projects → Open the relevant object → Details
How to use this feature #
When you open an object in Accept Mission, these role fields help you understand its history and current responsibility.
- Creator: the person who originally created the object or on whose behalf it was submitted.
- Owner: the person responsible for follow-up, coordination, and process continuity.
- Modifier: the user who last changed the object.
This information is useful when reviewing pipelines, preparing decisions, or checking accountability across a funnel.
Step by step instructions #
- Open Innovation Studio.
- Go to the relevant area, such as Ideas, Projects, Missions, or Funnels.
- Open the object you want to review.
- Locate the object details or metadata section.
- Check the Creator field to see who originally created the object.
- Check the Owner field to see who is responsible for follow-up.
- Check the Modifier field to see who last updated the object.
- If you are an Admin and reassignment is allowed, update the Creator or Owner field when responsibility needs to change.

Configuration and adjustments #
The Creator and Owner of an object can be changed by Admin users when process governance requires reassignment. This is useful when someone leaves a team, when an idea is submitted on behalf of another user, or when accountability shifts during review or execution.
The Modifier is updated automatically by the system whenever a user changes the object. This field is not manually assigned because it is intended to reflect the latest actual edit.
Changing the Owner affects who is expected to follow up on the object. Changing the Creator affects who is recorded as the original source of the object. This can be relevant for reporting, traceability, and collaboration.

Practical example – Innovationlands #
At Innovationlands, Jane submits an idea for a new guest flow concept to reduce waiting times at a major attraction. Jane is recorded as the Creator because she originated the idea in the funnel.
Later, the Innovation Lead for Park Operations is assigned as the Owner. That person becomes responsible for follow-up, including checking whether the idea fits the operational excellence funnel, preparing it for evaluation, and making sure the right stakeholders review it.
During enrichment, Sarah from the Guest Analytics Team adds visitor flow data and updates the idea description. Sarah becomes the Modifier because she made the latest change to the object.
In this example, the three roles serve different purposes:
- Jane remains the original source of the idea as Creator.
- The Innovation Lead is accountable for progress as Owner.
- Sarah is shown as the latest contributor through the Modifier field.
This distinction helps Innovationlands keep its funnel structured, maintain clear ownership during review, and understand who last changed the object before a Decision is made.
